SCR (Super Concrete Renovator)is the safe alternative to muriatic acid, contains no toxic heavy metals, or ozone-depleting solvents. With its high concentration detergent balanced with acid, SCR is the premier one step surface preparation material ensuring a measure of concrete cleaning, degreasing, and profiling. Its multi-function, environmentally friendly properties include cleaning and preparing a wide variety of substrates and surfaces.
SCR has the high-strength cleaning properties of much more hazardous materials, while being a much less caustic solution. This allows your workers to work with less equipment restrictions and therefore work faster. SCR also has the qualities of a profiling and etching agent like Muriatic Acid without the related harsh acidic properties. It therefore requires NO neutralization, and can simply be rinsed from your surface once finished cleaning.
Popular Surfaces That Can Be Cleaned with SCR
- Concrete Slabs
- Cement Based Products
- Tile
- Brick
- Grout
- Mortar
- Stamping Tools
- Molds
- Porcelain Products
Application
Apply in temperatures above freezing and below 90°F (32°C).
General cleaning of concrete
- Dilute SCR 2:1 with water (2 parts water to 1 part SCR)
- Dampen concrete with water from mist of pump-up sprayer or garden hose trigger nozzle.
- Apply evenly 2:1 diluted product across surface of concrete. Best results are achieved by spraying from a plastic pump-up sprayer.
- While still wet with product, scrub concrete with a stiff bristle-broom.
- Before SCR can dry, rinse with garden hose or power wash with a fan-tipped pressure washer.
As Surface Preparation on Exterior Concrete
- Dilute SCR 2:1 with water (2 parts water to 1 part SCR)
- Dampen concrete with water from mist of pump-up sprayer or garden hose trigger nozzle.
- Apply evenly 2:1* diluted product across surface of concrete. Best results are achieved by spraying from a plastic pump-up sprayer.
- While still wet with product, scrub concrete with a stiff bristle-broom
- Before SCR can dry, power wash with minimum 3,000 PSI (21,000 kPa) pressure washer equipped with a turbo-tip.
- Note: stronger dilution rates may be required for adequate profile. Some surface preparation may require other measures that should be evaluated (e.g. grinding, shot blasting).
As Surface Preparation on Interior Concrete
- Dilute SCR 2:1 with water (2 parts water to 1 part SCR)
- Dampen concrete with water from mist of pump-up sprayer or garden hose trigger nozzle.
- Apply evenly 2:1* diluted product across surface of concrete. Best results are achieved by spraying from a plastic pump-up sprayer.
- While still wet with product, scrub concrete with black pad on a rotational floor machine
- Keep floor wet with frequent rinsing.
- Mop residue until rinse water is clear or utilize water extraction equipment.
- Note: stronger dilution rates may be required for adequate profile. Some surface preparation may require other measures that should be evaluated (e.g. grinding, shot blasting).
Cleaning Overlay Prior to Coloring or Sealing
- Dilute SCR 4:1 with water (4 parts water to 1 part SCR)
- Dampen concrete with water from mist of pump-up sprayer or garden hose trigger nozzle.
- Apply evenly 4:1 diluted product across surface of overlay. Best results are achieved by spraying from a plastic pump-up sprayer.
- While still wet with product, gently brush surface with a soft bristle-broom.
- Before SCR can dry, gently rinse with garden hose or power wash with a fan-tipped pressure washer.
Prepping XS Precast and XS Face
- Dilute SCR 3:1 with water (3 parts water to 1 part SCR)
- Wet XS piece with water from pump-up sprayer or sponge.
- Brush or sponge 3:1 diluted product onto vertical edges of XS pieces first.
- Spray or sponge 3:1 diluted product from plastic pump-up sprayer onto surface.
- While still wet with SCR, gently brush surface with a soft bristle brush.
- Do not allow diluted product to stand on surface, rinse immediately.
Cleaning Stamping Tools and Molds
- Dilute SCR 4:1 with water (4 parts water to 1 part SCR)
- Dampen stamping tools or molds with water from mist of pump-up sprayer or sponge.
- Spray 4:1 diluted product from plastic pump-up sprayer onto tools or molds.
Suitability Sample
Always prepare an adequate number of on-site test areas on the intended substrate to establish aesthetic suitability for products’ intended use.
Clean Up
Simply rinse with water.
Disposal
Contact your local government household hazardous waste coordinator for information on disposal of unused product.
Packaging
