Omega Concrete Countertop Sealer
About
Omega Concrete Countertop Sealer is a high-performance urethane system engineered specifically for concrete countertops and architectural concrete surfaces. Developed by Jeff Girard through The Concrete Countertop Institute, Omega was designed to eliminate the delays, application challenges, and performance failures commonly associated with traditional professional urethane sealers.
Its advanced formulation provides excellent resistance to stains, acids, abrasion, scratches, heat, and UV exposure while remaining water-based and low VOC. Unlike slower, humidity-dependent systems, Omega cures quickly and consistently, allowing contractors to seal countertops in a single work window with predictable results.
Omega produces a very low-sheen, natural finish with strong color enhancement and no plastic appearance. It is compatible with any concrete countertop mix design, suitable for wet and dry applications, and can be used indoors or outdoors. Once cured, the surface requires only standard non-abrasive cleaning and delivers durable, food-safe performance without callbacks.
WHAT DOES OMEGA CONCRETE COUNTERTOP SEALER LOOK LIKE?
- Natural Low-Sheen Finish | Preserves the authentic look of concrete without unwanted gloss
- Color-Popping Results | Brings depth and richness to natural concrete color and pigments

WHAT IS THE SQUARE FOOTAGE OF YOUR PROJECT?
Specs
HOW MUCH DOES OMEGA COVER?
- Up to 170 sq ft per Kit | One 24 oz kit covers approximately 170 sq ft using up to 2 primer coats and 4 finish coats
- Cost-Effective Coverage | Averages approximately $0.76 per square foot at maximum application
How Surface Porosity Affects Coverage
Coverage and coat count will vary depending on the porosity and demands of the concrete surface. Less porous concrete or lower-demand applications, such as fireplace surrounds, may require as few as 1 primer coat and 2 finish coats. More porous surfaces may require additional applications, up to 2 primer coats and 4 finish coats, to achieve full sealing and long-term durability.
Always assess the porosity of the concrete before sealing to determine the appropriate number of coats. Proper evaluation and application ensure professional-grade results and extend the lifespan of the sealed surface.

HOW MUCH OMEGA NEEDS TO BE MIXED FOR MY PROJECT?
The Concrete Countertop Institute recommends two (2) primer coats and four (4) finish coats.
For easier and more accurate measuring, check out CCI's syringes (or the kits above) designed for mixing Part A and Part B.
Note: The coverage estimates below are approximate and will vary by your application method, concrete shape, and the surface porosity.
FOR EACH PRIMER COAT
The mixed Omega primer has a pot life of approximately 1 hour at room temperature, with shorter working times at higher temperatures. This provides sufficient time to apply both primer coats.

INSTRUCTION SUMMARY FOR OMEGA CONCRETE COUNTERTOP SEALER
Below is a very brief summary. Do not rely solely on this summary. It is imperative to watch all of the videos and read all of the written instructions.
1. Recommended Environmental Conditions for Applying Omega Concrete Sealer
To achieve the best results while applying a concrete sealer, it's essential to be mindful of specific environmental conditions. Here's what you need to consider:
- Air Movement: Apply the sealer in a location with minimal air movement. Drafts and breezy conditions can lead to uneven application, as the sealer may dry too quickly, resulting in undesirable streaks.
- Temperature: Avoid applying the sealer under direct sunlight or any form of radiant heat. Higher temperatures can cause the sealer to dry prematurely, making it difficult to achieve a smooth finish.
By managing these environmental factors, you can ensure a more even and professional finish for your concrete sealing project. Detailed information about the exact temperature and humidity, as well as considerations of dew point, air flow and dust control, are in the written instructions available from the full instructions page.
2. How to Prepare Your Concrete Surface for Sealing with Omega
Achieving a flawless finish on your concrete countertop begins with proper preparation. You will follow these steps to ensure your surface is ready for the sealer application:
- Cure your concrete for at least 2 days
- Make sure the concrete is microscopically rough by etching, wet sanding by hand, or machine honing to no more than 400 grit
- Make sure the concrete is clean and dry
- Ensure that the environment you will seal in is suitable
